Former Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Mobile Devices, Motorola Mobility

With more than 155 patents issued or pending, Mr. Alberth is a leading innovator in the wireless communications field. Mr. Alberth is presently consulting to several startups and established corporations on topics of Technology, Wireless Technology, and Intellectual Property.

Mr. Alberth is passionate about developing and commercializing new technology and his patent portfolio covers Mobile Communications across Hardware, Software, Network, End to End Services and various aspects of Wireless Technologies. Mr. Alberth created and led a team responsible for a majority of the Intellectual Property filed by Motorola Mobility, which included use and construction of a watch phone device. He was the Top Inventor in Motorola Mobility.

As Mobile Devices Chief Technology Officer, Bill Alberth was responsible for developing differentiating technologies. Mr. Alberth was a Dan Noble Fellow, and a Member of Motorola's Science Advisory Board, led the technical ladder and served on Motorola’s Patent committee. He regularly consults on Technology licensing, Technology investment, acquisitions and also served as an expert legal witness. He is a regular consultant to Carriers on Wireless Connectivity and Emerging Technologies, and has presented to the FCC on Spectrum and other topics.

Prior to his current assignment, Mr. Alberth has had responsibility for leading new product development and introduction of various analog and digital mobile communication products. He has over 25 years of experience in digital communications, RF systems engineering, digital signal processing, and new technology introductions, and has product development experience in LTE, CDMA, UMTS, 3G, PDC and Analog technologies.

Mr. Alberth graduated with a MSEE from Illinois Institute of Technology and a BSEE from the University of Illinois in Champaign, and is an advisor to Northwestern University Electrical and Computer Engineering.
