James Dice

James Dice is the founder and CEO of Nexus Labs, which provides a weekly newsletter and podcast to inform individuals of the smart building industry. Prior to starting Nexus Labs, they held various engineering and analytical roles, including Vice President Strategic Solutions and Director of Analytics at Sitton Energy Solutions and Energy Engineer II at M360, Inc. James also served as a Member of the Board of Directors for the U.S. Green Building Council - Missouri Gateway Chapter. James holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and gained experience through internships at Burns & McDonnell and as a Research Assistant at St. Louis University.

James Dice attended Glenwood High School from 2002 to 2006. After completing high school, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Saint Louis University and graduated in 2010. James has several additional certifications including Professional Engineer from the State of Illinois in 2015, Building Energy Assessment Professional (BEAP) from ASHRAE in 2014, Certified Measurement & Verification Professional (CMVP) from the Association of Energy Engineers in 2014, Certified Energy Manager (CEM) from the Association of Energy Engineers in 2014, Section4 Certified Product Fundamentals from Section4 in 2021, and Section4 Certified Platform Strategist from Section4 in 2022.
