Patrick Lenehan has a diverse work experience in the field of medical and scientific research. Patrick started their career as an Undergraduate Researcher at Connecticut Children's Medical Center, where they conducted a retrospective analysis of potential QT-prolonging effects of chronic azithromycin therapy in pediatric cystic fibrosis patients.
Patrick then moved on to the University of Connecticut as an Undergraduate Researcher in two different labs. In the Barbara Mellone Lab, they studied the dynamics of centromere formation in Drosophila and developed an experimental system to investigate the role of RNA transcripts in centromeric protein recruitment and stability. In the Rajeswari Kasi Lab, they developed enzyme-polymer conjugates with enhanced enzymatic activity in suboptimal conditions, which provided an approach for efficient biocatalysis in organic solvents.
After completing their undergraduate studies, Patrick joined Harvard Medical School as an MD/PhD Candidate. Patrick worked in the Stephanie Dougan Lab at Dana Farber Cancer Institute, where they studied innate and adaptive immune responses to pancreatic cancer and aimed to improve cancer immunotherapy options. Patrick also worked in the Nada Kalaany Lab at Boston Children's Hospital, studying the role of arginase 2 in obesity-associated pancreatic cancer.
During their time at Harvard Medical School, Patrick earned a PhD in Immunology while continuing their research in the lab of Dr. Stephanie Dougan.
In 2017, Patrick joined nference, where their roles included Clinical Scientist and later Head of Clinical Sciences.
Overall, Patrick Lenehan has a strong background in scientific research, particularly in the fields of immunology and cancer.
Patrick Lenehan has a solid education history. Patrick obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Connecticut in 2015. Patrick then pursued their education further at Harvard Medical School, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Immunology in 2022. Currently, they are studying at Harvard Medical School to earn a Doctor of Medicine degree, expected to be completed in May 2024.
