Al Smith

Al Smith is an experienced compliance officer currently serving in the National Football League (NFL) since July 2015, specializing in game day compliance operations. In addition, Al Smith has held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors at the NFL Alumni Association since April 2009, providing independent counsel to the CEO and president while also advocating for various initiatives including marketing and fundraising. Previous roles include serving as an on-air sports analyst at Nashville Sports Radio from 2008 to 2018, and as Director of Player Development at Vanderbilt University, where responsibilities included academic enhancement and mentoring. Al Smith’s earlier career includes significant positions with the Tennessee Titans, first as Director of Pro Scouting and then as Director of Player Development. Al Smith holds a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from Utah State University, a Master's Degree in Education/Sports Administration from Tennessee State University, and various certifications from prominent institutions such as Georgia Institute of Technology and Stanford University.
