John Lombardo

John Lombardo, MD, is a prominent figure in sports medicine, currently serving as an Independent Administrator for the Performance-Enhancing Substances Policy at the National Football League since 1990. In addition to this role, Lombardo chairs the Board of Directors for Partnership for Proactive Health, Inc. and is a Scientific Advisory Board Member for the Partnership for Clean Competition. His expertise is further recognized through committee memberships with the World Anti-Doping Agency, where John contributes to the Therapeutic Use Exemption Expert Group and the ABP (Steroid) Expert Group. Lombardo's extensive experience includes medical leadership roles at OhioHealth and MAX Sports Medicine, as well as a significant tenure as Sports Medicine Director and Head Team Physician at The Ohio State University Department of Athletics. Lombardo holds a Doctor of Medicine degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Medicine from the University of Dayton.
