John Mellody has extensive experience in athletic training and player health and safety, currently serving in the NFL's Player Health and Safety department since June 2020. Prior experience includes a significant tenure with the New York Jets from February 1996 to May 2020, where John held the roles of Senior Director/Head Athletic Trainer and Assistant Athletic Trainer. Earlier roles include Assistant Athletic Trainer at Saint Joseph's University, Athletic Trainer at HealthSouth, Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Syracuse University, and Seasonal Assistant Athletic Trainer for the Philadelphia Eagles. John holds a Master of Science degree from Syracuse University, completed a Summer Internship Program in Athletic Training at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Ursinus College.
