Diane Mitchell is the Chief Environment Adviser at the National Farmers' Union, a position they held since 2005. Previously, they served as a Research Assistant at Cambridge University Farm from 1997 to 1999 and pursued a PhD at The Macaulay Land Use Research Institute from 1992 to 1995. Diane has also been the Vice Chair of the Environment Working Group at COPA-COGECA from 2014 to 2020 and an Advisory Group member for the Environmental Evidence for the Future Initiative at the Natural Environment Research Council from 2017 to 2020. They earned a BSc and a PhD from the University of Aberdeen and completed the Duchy College Challenge of Rural Leadership in 2019.
