NGO ‘Parivartan’ is a non-governmental organisation working for the welfare of persons with mental illness and their families in Tricity, Chandigarh. It is a brainchild of Late Dr. B. S. Chavan, Director Principal, GMCH-32, Chandigarh. It is a venture of the Department of Psychiatry, Government Medical College & Hospital, Sector- 32, Chandigarh. 

It is registered under the Societies Registration Act (XXI of 1860), Darpan portal of Planning Commission, Government of India (Reg no. 4006), and the Rights of Persons with Disability (RPWD) Act, 2016. Parivartan was established in the year 2009 with the vision of working towards bringing lasting and constructive changes in the lives of persons with mental illness. 

Parivartan provides a range of key services, including:
1. Crisis resolution and home-based treatment (CRHT) services 
2. Community awareness and capacity building
3. Recreational group for caregivers
4. Doorstep Oral Screening & Testing (DOST)
5. Psychoeducational sessions for caregivers
6. Voluntary inducement program (VIP)
7. Rehabilitation at Home and Community Treatment (RAHAT)
8. Services for destitute Persons with Mental illness
