David Brear has extensive experience in both education and union leadership. Brear held various positions within the Independent Education Union Victoria Tasmania from April 2001 to October 2013, culminating as General Secretary, where leadership of a team of over 50 staff served 21,000 members. Currently, Brear is the Deputy General Secretary and lawyer at NGS Super since April 2022.
