Simon Maxwell

Simon Maxwell is a Professor of Student Learning in Clinical Pharmacology and Prescribing at the University of Edinburgh, where they direct the Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics theme of the MB ChB course and oversee the MSc programme. They have served as Medical Director for the UK Prescribing Skills Assessment since 2010 and hold a similar position at the Centre for Adverse Reactions to Drugs in Scotland. With extensive clinical experience as a Consultant Physician at NHS Lothian, Maxwell has actively contributed to both local and national healthcare initiatives, including medicines management and pharmacovigilance. They earned their MB ChB with Honours from The University of Birmingham between 1980 and 1986.
