Andrew Smith

Andrew Smith is a Consultant HPB Surgeon at Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust and has served as the President of the Association of Upper GI Surgery and Clinical Lead for the National Pancreatic Cancer Audit. Currently, they are an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Leeds and the President of AUGIS, positions they have held since 2006 and 2025, respectively. Andrew completed a Doctor of Medicine (MD) with distinction at the University of Nottingham and holds a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) along with a BSc in Chemical Pathology from Imperial College London. Prior to their current roles, they were an HPB Clinical Fellow at the Cleveland Clinic from 2003 to 2004.
