Dimitra Peppa is an Associate Professor in HIV Immunology at UCL and an Honorary Consultant in HIV Medicine. With dual training in basic science and medicine, Dimitra has a strong interest in viral infections, focusing on the immunoregulatory role of NK cells. Their research has revealed how NK cells contribute to the depletion of Hepatitis B Virus-specific T cells and identified pathways that affect NK cell functionality in the context of HIV. Currently, Dimitra's work addresses metabolic changes in NK cell subsets and their implications for immune activation in aging HIV cohorts, utilizing advanced cellular immunology and molecular techniques.
