Ian Smith

Ian Smith is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in various leadership roles across multiple sectors, including private equity, healthcare, and consulting. Currently serving as Operating Partner at Trilantic Europe since 2015, and Chair of the NHS Surrey Heartlands Integrated Care Board since 2021, Ian has also held significant positions such as CEO of Exel and General Healthcare Group, and Chairman of Four Seasons Health Care. In addition, Ian has contributed to public policy as a Parliamentary Appointee on the ‘Hooper Review’ and ‘Smith Review’ and has been involved in international initiatives as a Senior Advisor to the Office of the Quartet. Ian's educational background includes an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BSc in Psychology from The Open University, complemented by distinguished degrees from the University of Hull and University of Oxford.
