Mark Wright

Mark Wright is a Professor of Hepatology and Consultant Hepatologist at University Hospitals Southampton, where they have served as the clinical lead for the Southampton Hepatology Team since 2005. In 2025, they became the founder of Doctors Against Red Tape and an honorary professor at the University of Southampton. Mark gained extensive medical training at St Bartholomew's Hospital in London, earning a BSc (1st Class Hons) in 1991 and an MBBS (Hons) in 1994. They also hold a Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Biology from Imperial College London and have managed a private medical practice, GI Choice Ltd, alongside their NHS duties since 2010.
