Mathena Pavan

Mathena Pavan is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with extensive experience in both clinical practice and medical education. They have served as a Gastroenterologist at Barts Health NHS Trust since 2024 and are currently a Specialist Registrar in Gastroenterology at The London Deanery. Mathena has also worked as a Clinical Research Fellow at University College London, where they are undertaking a PhD program focused on the innate immune system in inflammatory bowel disease. Additionally, they have been a freelance social media consultant and medical education content reviewer since 2011, advising on social media strategy in medical education. Mathena earned an MBBS BSc in Molecular Basis of Disease from Imperial College London in 2006.
