Peter Young is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon based in the West of Scotland, currently practicing at the NHS since 2018 and serving as an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Glasgow since 2025. Their expertise includes general trauma and various aspects of lower limb arthroplasty, along with a focus on prosthetic joint infection and metastatic bone disease. Peter has a strong research background, having completed a BMedSci during their undergraduate studies and pursued a PhD in nanoscale surface modification and bone marrow stem cell response. In addition, they contribute to stem cell research in the Centre for the Cellular Microenvironment and hold a Fellowship in Orthopaedic Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh).
