Samantha Lear

Lead Clinical Scientist (audiology)

Samantha Lear is a highly experienced audiologist currently serving as a Senior Audiology Policy Advisor at the National Deaf Children's Society since November 2021. In addition, Samantha has been with the NHS since October 1993, holding the position of Lead Clinical Scientist in Audiology at Sheffield Children's Hospital, where responsibilities include managing the Paediatric Hearing Aid Service and providing scientific input to various audiological services. Samantha also has a background in vestibular services and cochlear implant programs. In the professional community, Samantha serves as the Immediate Past President of the British Academy of Audiology, following roles as President and Vice President. Educational qualifications include a Master's Degree in Audiology from the University of Southampton and a Clinical Doctorate in Healthcare Science (Audiology) from The University of Manchester.
