Rex Martin

Chairman at NIBCO

Rex Martin is Chairman of the Board of Directors of NIBCO INC., a worldwide manufacturer of flow control system solutions for the residential and commercial construction markets. Rex Martin represents the fourth generation of Martin family leadership. The company has been headquartered in Elkhart, Indiana, since its inception in 1904 and operates manufacturing locations throughout the United States, Mexico, and Poland.

Rex joined the Company in 1975 and served in a variety of leadership positions in marketing, manufacturing plant management, and executive positions until his appointment as President. He has held the positions of President and Chief Executive Officer since 1992 and was elected Chairman of the Board in 1995.

Martin is the Co-Founder and Chairman of The Rex & Alice A. Martin Foundation which specializes in donations to fund major projects for children in all of the NIBCO site locations. Rex has also served on many not-for-profit educational institutions and charities across the State of Indiana as well as leading several capital campaigns. He has served on the United Way of Elkhart County, WNIT Public Television, The American Red Cross of Elkhart County, the Elkhart Community Foundation, the Elkhart Park Foundation, Culver Academies, and Elkhart General Hospital. Rex currently serves on the Student Athletics Advisory Board for the University of Notre Dame.

Rex Martin has been honored many times for his leadership and philanthropy including receiving the “Sagamore of the Wabash” Award—Indiana’s highest honor. He has also been recognized by other organizations such as Culver Academies, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Indiana University at South Bend, Lions’ Club International, The National American Red Cross, the Boy Scouts of America, and the American Federation of Philanthropy.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University in Bloomington and a master’s degree in management from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
