Sofie Vanpoucke

Sofie Vanpoucke is a forensic scientist at the National Institute for Criminalistics and Criminology, where they oversee the processing of biological traces such as hair, insects, and soil samples found at crime scenes. They have been in this role since 2008, ensuring compliance with ISO 17025 standards. Previously, Sofie completed a Doctor of Science degree in archaeozoology at KU Leuven, where they also served as a PhD student from 2002 to 2008. Their educational journey began at onze lieve vrouw lyceum and continued at KU Leuven, where they obtained a degree in biology.
