Leon Surynt is an experienced professional in the coffee and hospitality industries, currently serving as the Managing Director and Founder of Nightjar Coffee Roasters since January 2017, based in Dubai. Surynt's career includes a significant tenure at Coffee Planet LLC, where roles included General Manager of Retail and Retail Director, contributing to substantial regional expansion. Previous experience encompasses Executive Manager for Emirates Leisure Retail, focusing on new dining concepts, and co-founding Matterhorn Since 1963, a renowned hospitality establishment in New Zealand. Academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Innovation and Entrepreneurship from the University of Adelaide, a Diploma in Communication and Media Studies from the American Film Institute Maine, and a Bachelor of Arts from Victoria University of Wellington.

All coffee is via direct trade or fully transparent sourcing, with a focus on cupping & securing contracts at origin. This ensures there is a measured, positive impact on our producer communities, which in turn guarantees stable & high-quality crops season after season, with a consistency of supply that remains unique to Nightjar’s offer. To maintain freshness & integrity, all green coffee is stored offsite in a temperature-controlled, HACCP certified warehouse. Nightjar currently employs 68 team members & is poised for regional expansion in 2023.
