Dan Karlin

Chief Scientific Advisor at NightWare

Dan Karlin has a long and varied career in the medical field. In 2021, they were appointed Chief Medical Officer of MindMed, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company. From 2013 to 2021, they served as an Assistant Professor at Tufts University. In 2018, they joined NightWare as Chief Scientific Advisor and Chief Medical Officer, and in 2021 they were appointed to the Board of Directors of Sonara Health and as a Strategic Advisor. In 2018, they became Mental Health Lead Advisor at 4YouandMe and Senior Advisor at Recovery Delivered. In 2020, they joined Limitless Ventures as Medical Advisor and Syntegra as Advisor. From 2019 to 2021, they served as an Attending Physician at Montefiore Health System, and from 2018 to 2021 they were Co-founder and CEO, then General Manager, of HealthMode.

Dan Karlin obtained a BA in Neuroscience and Behavior from Columbia University from 1997 to 2001. Dan then went on to complete a MA in Medical Informatics and Cognitive Science in Medicine from the Columbia Department of Biomedical Informatics from 2003 to 2005. Finally, they obtained their MD from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus from 2005 to 2009. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including a Diplomate in Addiction Medicine, Clinical Informatics, and Psychiatry from the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM), as well as a Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association and a Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine from the American Psychiatric Association and American Society of Addiction Medicine - ASAM, respectively.
