Amila Ferron is a Graduate Researcher in Natural Language Processing, currently contributing to the Nike Innovation team. Amila previously led research at PortNLP, where they identified gaps in capabilities, developed innovative solutions, and submitted work for publication. During a short internship at Amazon Web Services, Amila delivered a service to support executive decision-making. Amila also taught software engineering concepts to over 600 students as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Portland State University. They are pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and a Master of Science in Historic Preservation.
