Matthijs van Eede

Matthijs Van Eede is an experienced data specialist currently serving as Lead Performance Management and Lead Data Scientist at Nike since July 2020, focusing on processing large data sets with PySpark. Prior to Nike, Matthijs worked as a Data Science Consultant at Ordina, where text mining on unstructured data was a key responsibility. Matthijs also held research positions at AMC and UMC Utrecht, contributing to medical image analysis and visualization software development using Python and deep learning. Matthijs began a professional career at The Hospital for Sick Children, engaging in software development, data analysis, and mentorship for students while utilizing various programming languages. Matthijs obtained a Master’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Eindhoven University of Technology and previously attended the University of Toronto.
