Michael Gerrits

Michael Gerrits is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in product safety, regulatory compliance, and intellectual property law. Currently serving as Sr Director and Sr Counsel for Product Safety & Compliance at Nike since December 2014, Michael specializes in tracking and analyzing chemical, physical, environmental, and labeling laws across various global regions. Michael has also contributed to the development of standards as a member of the standard committee for the Netherlands Standards Institute (NEN) and has held various legal roles focusing on European product legislation and IP law, including positions as an attorney-at-law and chairman of the Dutch Association of CE Consultants (NVCE). Michael holds a Master of Laws in Private Law and International Law from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
