Founded in 2018, Nimble Farms (formerly Ellicottville Greens) is redefining smart, local, technology-enabled farming. Utilizing proven hydroponic technology housed in repurposed, climate-controlled shipping containers, their modular units can be scaled to fit any size and location, enabling efficient, year-round food production. Nimble Farms’ controlled environment features energy-efficient LED lights, recirculating water and nutrient systems, and precise temperature controls, optimizing plant growth and maximizing resource efficiency. Built for hyper-local production and delivery, Nimble Farms operates entirely on renewable energy—powered by local solar, wind, and hydroelectric sources—reinforcing their commitment to reducing their environmental impact.

Nimble Farms grows hundreds of varieties of safe, pesticide-free, non-GMO crops year-round, including living lettuces, herbs (both living and cut), microgreens, and mushrooms. Nimble Farms partners closely with local supermarkets, farmers’ markets, schools, and hospitals across New York State and the broader Northeast region to meet their demand for fresh, local produce. You can find Nimble Farms’ products in Tops Friendly Markets and other local and regional chains in and around New York State.

Nimble Farms is dedicated to building a more sustainable future by tailoring each farm to the unique needs of its community, helping to drive regional economic growth and long-term sustainability. Currently operating farms in Olean and Buffalo, NY, the company plans to expand throughout NY State and PA in 2025, with plans to scale to 100 farms in the coming decade.
