Lia Timson

Lia Timson is an accomplished journalist and executive with extensive experience in foreign news coverage and literacy initiatives. Currently serving as an Executive Board Member at the Jane Austen Literacy Foundation, Lia contributes to funding literacy resources for communities in need. As Deputy World Editor at Nine, Lia drives foreign coverage and oversees editorial content for prominent publications, including The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald. With a strong background at Fairfax Media, Lia has held various roles, including Foreign News Editor and Technology Editor, and was a founding editor for the IT Pro section. Additionally, Lia co-founded the ABCD Association for Brazilian Bilingual Children's Development Inc., enhancing bilingual education for Portuguese-speaking families in Australia. Lia holds a Master's degree in Journalism from the University of Technology Sydney and a Bachelor's degree in Social Communications from FAAP.
