Chris Guinn

Director of Intellectual Property at Nintendo

Chris Guinn is the current Director of Intellectual Property at Nintendo. Chris has extensive experience in managing and developing intellectual property assets, as well as resolving IP disputes. Prior to joining Nintendo, Chris worked at Amazon.com for six years as Sr. Corporate Counsel, Intellectual Property. In this role, they were responsible for mining technology areas for potential patent filings, managing the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, and participating in IP evaluation, acquisition, risk analysis, and licensing. Chris also served as the intellectual property lead on the open source policy setting and compliance group.

Before their time at Amazon.com, Chris worked at Texas Instruments, Inc. for six years as a Sr. Systems Engineer. In this role, they led a team of software engineers and was responsible for setting team goals, aligning projects with company priorities, and driving on-time project completion through project management and technical mentoring. Chris also negotiated semiconductor equipment purchases and recommended equipment requisitions.

Chris Guinn has a J.D. from Texas A&M University School of Law and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Auburn University.
