Marla Poor is the Senior Corporate Counsel, Policy & Government Affairs at Nintendo. Marla has over 20 years of experience in the field of intellectual property and has advised Congressional staff and Administration officials on domestic and international intellectual property issues.

Ms. Poor started their career as a Copyright Attorney at the Motion Picture Association where they worked for three years before moving to the U.S. Copyright Office. At the U.S. Copyright Office, Ms. Poor served as a Policy Planning Advisor to the Register for eight years. In this role, they advised on matters of international copyright law and policy and helped to shape domestic and international intellectual property policy.

Ms. Poor’s research has focused on complex domestic and international intellectual property issues relating to digital technology, including digital rights management and technological protections measures, Internet service provider liability, fair use, exceptions to protection in the digital age, rights of broadcasters, cablecasters and webcasters, broadcast flag and peer-to-peer file sharing issues.

Marla Poor is a Professorial Lecturer in Law at The George Washington University Law School, where they teach International Copyright Law. Marla is also a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from Washburn University School of Law, where they specialized in Intellectual Property Law.
