Michael Schunk

Michael Schunk is a seasoned professional in the field of civil engineering, currently serving as the Technical Director at NIRAS since June 2025. Prior experience includes a tenure at COWI from January 2008 to May 2025, where Michael Schunk held various roles including Associate Project Director, Head of Section for Ground Engineering, and Senior Geotechnical Engineer/Project Manager. Earlier in the career, Michael Schunk worked at Fugro as a Geotechnical Consultant/Project Manager from September 1998 to December 2007. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from RWTH Aachen University, obtained from 1991 to 1998, and studies at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid during 1995-1996, along with education at Sophianum in Gulpen, Netherlands from 1985 to 1991.
