In the blue city of Jodhpur, where stories of tradition and resilience meet the promise of change, NISA (A Unit of Suhale Foundation) is creating pathways for inclusive development and community empowerment.

Registered as a Section 8 nonprofit company, NISA was founded in 2024 with a simple belief that lasting change begins within communities when people are given the tools to learn, lead, and earn with dignity.

The name NISA carries deep meaning. In Arabic, it means women, and it is also inspired by Khair-un-Nisa, the grandmother of our founder, whose courage and compassion shaped the values that guide us today. As an acronym, NISA stands for Nurturing Independence, Strength and Advocacy, which represent the three core pillars of our work and philosophy.
Our journey began with women because when women rise, families and communities rise with them. Yet our mission extends beyond gender, aiming to build a society grounded in education, skills, and advocacy where every individual can participate with dignity.

Through Project Atmanirbhar, we have trained more than 100 women in sewing and skill development, conducted a survey of 800 women from marginalized communities, and helped many find pathways to economic independence. Alongside this, we provide legal aid and literacy support to women seeking justice, learning, and opportunity.

Our model brings together local wisdom and global collaboration. The NISA team includes community leaders, educators, creative professionals, and volunteers from across India who work both on the ground and remotely to build sustainable and people-centered solutions.
At its heart, NISA is not only an organization but a movement that nurtures Independence, Strength and Advocacy within every person we reach.
