Chuck Shafer

Chuck Shafer serves as Vice President, Health, Safety & Environmental Execution. He is responsible for environmental compliance, permitting and remediation, as well as occupational safety and safety technology. He previously served as Chief Safety Officer.

Chuck has 30 years of experience in the utility industry and has held senior leadership positions in the operations, construction, engineering, customer service, and corporate support functions, most recently serving as Senior Vice President, Gas Engineering & Gas Support Services at NiSource, where he was accountable for a number of gas operations support functions as well as central engineering and construction.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from Ohio University and a master’s degree in business administration from Capital University.
