Michael W. Hooper

Mike Hooper serves as NiSource Senior Vice President and President of Northern Indiana Public Service Co. (NIPSCO), NiSource’s natural gas and electric utility in Indiana. He is responsible for NiSource's electric business segment, including its advanced energy and renewable portfolio strategy.

Prior to assuming this role in June 2020, Mike served as Senior Vice President, Regulatory and Legislative Affairs & Strategy at NIPSCO since October 2018, with responsibility for the company’s regulatory and legislative activities and for formulating NIPSCO’s strategic vision and plans.

Mike joined NIPSCO in 2011 and has served as its Senior Vice President of Electric Operations and as Vice President of Major Projects after a 15-year career at American Electric Power, where he served in various roles within the electric utility’s power generation and capital project management divisions.

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the West Virginia Institute of Technology. He graduated from the Strategic Leadership program at Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business.
