Dr Chithra K has a diverse work experience in the field of academia and architecture. Dr Chithra started their career in 1996 as an Architect at Prasanth & Associates in Calicut, where they worked until 1999. Following this, they joined MESSOA in Kuttippuram as an Assistant Professor in December 1999 and served until January 2007. In January 2007, they joined NITC as an Assistant Professor and continued in this role until the present.

Dr Chithra K has an extensive education history in the field of architecture and planning. Dr Chithra attained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Architecture and Planning from the National Institute of Technology Calicut, graduating from 2010 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's Degree in Town Planning from the School of Architecture & Planning, Anna University, Chennai, completing their studies from 2003 to 2005. In their earlier years, Dr Chithra K earned a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from the College of Engineering Trivandrum, attending from 1991 to 1996.

As for additional certifications, Dr Chithra K became a member of the Council of Architecture - India in 1997. Dr Chithra also obtained certifications as an AITP (Institute of Town Planners, India) and an FIIA (The Indian Institute of Architects), although the specific dates of obtaining these certifications are not provided.
