Nicolas Pinkowski

Co-Founder and CEO at Nitricity

Nicolas Pinkowski has a diverse work experience which includes roles in both the academic and corporate sectors. Nicolas is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Nitricity, a start-up focused on providing universal access to nitrogen fertilizer through electrochemical innovations. Prior to this, they worked as a PhD student and NDSEG Fellow at Stanford University from 2016 onwards. Nicolas also served as a Research and Development Intern at IBM in 2015, where they focused on heat transfer. In 2014, they worked as a Research Assistant in Heat Transfer at the University of Colorado Boulder and completed an Embedded Electronics Internship at TekFuze Electronics in Kosovo. In 2013, they gained experience as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Zybek Advanced Products, specializing in CAD and machine shop work. Nicolas also had an internship with the Office of the President in Timor-Leste in 2012, where they worked on video production, international public relations, and capacity building training for palace security.

Nicolas Pinkowski has an extensive educational background in the field of engineering. Nicolas completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Energy Systems at Stanford University from 2016 to 2021. Prior to that, they acquired a Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution in 2017. Nicolas also holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering, which they obtained from the University of Colorado Boulder between 2012 and 2016. Additionally, in 2014, they obtained a certification as a SolidWorks Associate - Mechanical Design from SolidWorks.
