Nkpiema · Big Sis is a free, anonymous digital educational health and wellbeing platform built by and for African girls and young women. The name Nkpiema means "lifting my sisters up" in Waali, a language of Northern Ghana. We are the big sister in the pocket of every girl who has ever needed an honest answer about her body, her mind, or her safety, and could not find one she could trust.

We exist because 84% of women globally report that their health concerns are overlooked or dismissed by healthcare providers. Across West Africa, that number is felt every single day, in clinics that judge before they listen, in classrooms where periods are never mentioned, and in homes where mental health is still a silence too heavy to name.

Nkpiema bridges that gap. Our platform delivers clinically reviewed information across reproductive health, mental wellbeing, body literacy, skin and hair health, relationships, safety, and financial empowerment, all grounded in African lived experience and written in plain language, without judgement.

What we offer:
— AI-powered skin and hair analysis built for melanin-rich African skin
— Anonymous Ask Big Sis — questions answered by vetted health professionals
— Body by Big Sis — African-context body type identification and style guidance
— Body Diaries — real health stories from young African women
— Clinic referrals across Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and The Gambia
— Girls Who Research Girls — undergraduate-led community research closing the gender data gap in African healthcare
— Big Sis Pro — personalised health dashboards and priority care at $2/month

Founded by a young woman from Northern Ghana who built the big sister she never had, Nkpiema sits at the intersection of FemTech education, digital health, and African innovation.

Every girl deserves honest answers. You have a Big Sis now.
