Jonathan Galgay

Jonathan Galgay has worked in a variety of public service roles over the years. Jonathan is currently the Chair of the Board of Directors at NL Eats. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of the Town Of Twillingate from May 2021 to December 2021. From November 2017 to November 2019, they were the Executive Director of the George Street Business Association. From September 2013 to September 2017, they served as Councillor, Ward 2 for the City of St. John's. Jonathan has also worked as a Policy / Operations Analyst - 911 Implementation Team (Fire and Emergency Services) for the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador from October 2013 to February 2015, and as a Senior Analyst in the Department of Justice and Public Safety from July 2006 to December 2013. In 2005-2006, they were the Legislative Advisor to Member of Parliament for the House of Commons of Canada Chambre des communes du Canada.

Jonathan Galgay has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Jonathan is also certified by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador as a Commissioner for Oaths, and has certificates in Maximizing Your Supervisory Potential and Principles and Qualities Genuine Leadership from Achieve Global. Jonathan also has a certificate in Public Policy and Evaluation from the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, and is a Super Host Atlantic certified by Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador. In addition, they have an Occupational Health & Safety Committee certificate from Workplace Health, Safety and Compensation Commission (WorkplaceNL), Standard First Aid, CPR and AED certification from St John Ambulance NL Council, eSafetyFirst Canada Standards Compliant Safety Training Certificate - Fire Extinguishers, and WHMIS certification from Puglisevich Crews & Services Ltd.
