Christopher Rivera

Christopher Rivera is a Principal Fiber Laser Engineer at nLIGHT, focusing on the development of kW class industrial systems for cutting and welding applications since October 2013. In addition to engineering, Christopher serves as a volunteer mentor with nConnect NW, where efforts are directed towards guiding AP calculus students and promoting STEM careers. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral researcher position at the University of Maryland, specializing in non-linear optical spectroscopy, and a PhD candidacy at the University of Southern California, with research on liquid phase small molecule reaction dynamics. Early research work includes positions at Linfield College, involving electrochemical analysis and organometallic synthesis. Christopher holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Chemistry from Linfield University and a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Southern California.
