John Edgecumbe

John Edgecumbe has a work experience spanning over several roles and companies. John started their career as an R&D Engineer at Varian Electro-Optical Senors Division in 1989, and later worked as an R&D Engineer at SDL, Inc. in 1996. John then became a Sr. Research Engineer at Intevac, Photonics Technology Division in 1997. In 2003, they joined Raytheon as a Sr. Principal Physics Engineer until 2006 when they became a Technical Manager at Nufern. From 2009 to 2010, they worked as a Sr. Principal Scientist at nLight, and then Director of Defense Technology at Coherent | Nufern from 2010 to 2017. John returned to Raytheon in 2017 as an Engineering Fellow before becoming the Vice President of Directed Energy Laser Development at nLight in 2018.

John Edgecumbe has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from San Jose State University. John also holds a Master of Science degree in Physics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Additionally, they have a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Yale University.
