Mike Munroe currently serves as the Director of High Energy Laser Systems at nLIGHT, Inc. since September 2023. Previously, Mike held the position of Principal Laser Engineer and Manager of Laser Engineering at Voxtel LLC from July 2015 to August 2023, and worked as a Principal Systems Engineer at Raydiance, Inc. from June 2011 to July 2015. Mike's earlier experience includes roles at nLIGHT as a Senior Research Scientist (consultant), Director of Research and Development at Deep Photonics Corporation, Manager of Optical Systems Engineering at Mahi Networks, and Program Manager at Templex Technology. Additionally, Mike started a research career as an NRC Postdoctoral Research Fellow at NIST Boulder, and completed a graduate research assistantship and teaching fellowship at the University of Oregon. Educational qualifications include a PhD and MS in Optical Physics from the University of Oregon and a BS in Applied Physics from Harvey Mudd College.
