Pavan Bilgi

Pavan Bilgi is an Optical Engineer at nLIGHT, Inc. since September 2023, focusing on image sensor characterization and fiber laser development. Prior experience includes serving as an X-ray calibration scientist at The Open University, analyzing CCD data related to radiation damage for the SMILE mission, and working as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Observatories of The Carnegie Institution for Science, where Pavan led the integration and testing of the Local Volume Mapper instrument. Pavan's academic background includes a Ph.D. and MSc in Aeronautics from Caltech and a B.Eng/BSc in Aerospace Engineering and Math from Monash University. Additional roles include a Graduate Student Researcher at Caltech, a Visiting Research Student at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and various positions at The University of Queensland, Defence Science and Technology Group, and CSIRO.
