Prabal Dutta

Prabal Dutta has extensive work experience in academia and entrepreneurship. Prabal began their career as a graduate student at U.C. Berkeley from August 2004 to December 2009. Prabal then served as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Stanford University from June 2011 to August 2011.

Prabal joined the University of Michigan as an Assistant Professor from January 2010 to May 2015, and later became an Associate Professor from June 2015 to December 2016. In June 2016, they moved to the University of California, Berkeley, where they currently hold the position of Associate Professor.

Alongside their academic roles, Prabal also pursued entrepreneurial endeavors. Prabal co-founded and served as an advisor for CubeWorks, Inc. from 2013 onwards. In 2019, they became a Co-Founder and Director at nLine, and in 2020, they co-founded and became an advisor for Gridware. Most recently, in 2021, Prabal co-founded and serves as a Director at Vizi Metering, Inc.

Prabal Dutta obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University, spanning from 1992 to 1997. Subsequently, they pursued a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of California, Berkeley, from 2004 to 2009.
