William Johnston

William Johnston is an experienced consultant with a robust background in law and finance, currently serving at ByrneWallace LLP since December 2020. Engagements include key governance roles as a member of the Board and Audit & Risk Committee at the Port of Waterford since December 2018, and membership on the Board, Credit, and Audit & Risk Committees of the Housing Finance Agency plc since March 2017. William has held significant positions, including Honorary Secretary and member of the Board at The National Maternity Hospital since June 2013. Additionally, William contributes to the Law Society of Ireland as an external examiner in Banking law and a lecturer in Finance Law Diploma. A former partner and solicitor at Arthur Cox LLP from August 1985 to December 2017, William Johnston holds a Master's degree in Economics and Administration from Trinity College Dublin and has educational credentials from Downside School and St. Gerard's School.
