Brian Root is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in program management, research and development, and technical consulting within the healthcare and biotechnology sectors. Currently serving on the Healthcare Advisory Council for CAV Angels since November 2024 and working as a Subject Matter Expert and Program Manager at Noblis ESI since May 2023, Brian provides strategic guidance to U.S. Government agencies and leads research projects intersecting biology and AI. Previously, Brian held key roles at MicroGEM, including VP of R&D and Senior Director of Program Management, overseeing innovative diagnostic solutions and managing significant NIH proposal submissions. Brian's earlier experience includes leadership positions at the University of Virginia's Applied Research Institute and Microlab Diagnostics, where expertise in project management and scientific development was honed. Brian holds a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Lafayette College.
