Lance McLean is an accomplished physicist with extensive experience in leading innovative teams in both advisory and analytic services. Currently serving as the Lead Physicist at Noblis ESI since December 2019, Lance oversees expert teams in artificial intelligence and physical and biological sciences, focusing on advancing technology for measurable impact in Department of Homeland Security projects. Previously, from October 2006 to December 2019, Lance held the position of Principal Scientist at Mission Support and Test Services, LLC, where research initiatives emphasized remote sensing applications in nuclear forensics and emergency response for the Department of Energy/NNSA. Lance holds both a Master's and Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics from North Carolina State University, completing studies there from 1994 to 2005, and earned a Bachelor's of Science in Physics from the University of North Carolina Wilmington between 1991 and 1994.
