As managing director, Matthias takes care of all commercial issues such as finance, strategy and human resources.
For Matthias, node.energy is the second start-up in the energy industry: in 2010 he founded TeraJoule Energy GmbH, which later became Clean Energy Sourcing AG (CLENS). At CLENS he was responsible for the construction and operation of one of the first virtual power plants in Germany with an output of over 500 megawatts until 2013. Later, he was also responsible for business development for the entire group and was managing director of two subsidiaries with annual sales of over EUR 150 million (direct marketing of EEG systems and software services for virtual power plants). After selling his shares at the end of 2015, Matthias left the company in August 2016 and founded node.energy GmbH.
Matthias has a degree in business administration and completed his studies at the University of Cologne, the University of St. Gallen (HSG) and the University of California Santa Barbara (UCSB).
