Tim Abbott

Tim Abbott holds a Ph.D. in Astronomy from The University of Texas at Austin and a B.A. in Physics from the University of Oxford. Currently serving as the Head of the RSS Telescope Operations Group at NSF's NOIRLab since October 2020, Tim Abbott also works as an Observatory Scientist at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory, a position held since March 2002. Previous experience includes roles as Astronomer in Charge at the Nordic Optical Telescope, Resident Astronomer at the Canada France Hawaii Telescope, and Fellow at the European Southern Observatory, where responsibilities included overseeing detector performance at Cerro La Silla.
