Catia Pinho

Catia Pinho, Ph.D., has extensive experience in the field of telecommunications and optical systems, with a focus on photonic integrated circuits (PIC) and biomedical signal processing. Catia's career includes roles as a researcher at the Instituto de Telecomunicações and the University of Aveiro, as well as positions at PICadvanced and Infinera, where development of advanced optical systems and architectures was a significant responsibility. Current engagement as Staff Optical System Design Engineer at Nokia involves innovative networking solutions. Catia's academic background includes a PhD in Telecommunications and a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering from Universidade de Aveiro. Additional visiting researcher experiences at prestigious institutions such as the University of Cambridge and UC Santa Barbara have contributed to proficiency in optical signal processing and PIC design.
