Gopal Kumar is a Distinguished Member of Technical Staff and ALTA member at Alcatel-Lucent, specializing in Self Optimization Network algorithms within LTE. With a strong background in massively parallel algorithms and a PhD in Engineering Physics from the University of Virginia, Gopal has contributed to over 25 patents in network optimization and performance analysis. Previously, Gopal worked as a Parallel Algorithm Researcher at NKK and as a Scientist at the Research Institute for Science and Technology in Tokyo. In addition to technical pursuits, Gopal passionately promotes mathematical learning among school children through a math school founded with their spouse.
