Jonathan Buset

Jonathan Buset serves as the Senior Director of Systems Design for Optical Systems and Network Solutions at Nokia since March 2025. Prior to this role, Jonathan held several positions at Infinera from September 2019 to March 2025, culminating in a leadership role overseeing the global optical line system architecture team. Jonathan's expertise encompasses optical system design, power control systems, and transmission performance. Earlier experience includes a Research Scientist position at McGill University's Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, where Jonathan developed fiber-to-the-home solutions and conducted low-temperature electron transport measurements. Jonathan has also contributed as a Technology Consultant for a collaborative project with Bell Canada to support the rollout of the Fibe service. Jonathan holds a Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering and a Master's degree in Condensed Matter Physics, both from McGill University.
