Sharfuddin Syed

Sharfuddin Syed is a seasoned technology professional with over three decades of experience in systems architecture and engineering within the telecommunications industry. Currently serving as the Sr. Director of the Systems Architecture Group at Nokia since October 2002, Sharfuddin leads an embedded architecture team focused on next-generation transponders and line systems, overseeing the development of architecture and requirement specifications. Prior roles include Distinguished Engineer at Infinera, where key contributions were made in system architecture for long-haul optical networks, and Sr. Principal Systems Engineer at Nokia, progressing from technical staff. Earlier experience includes senior engineering positions at Fujitsu Network Communications, Nortel Networks, and Newbridge Networks, with a foundation in software engineering from Dipix Technologies. Sharfuddin holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science & Engineering from Osmania University.
